What do you do when hit by a sneaker wave of crisis or loss?
I’m still working out the answer to this question, but have learned a few things in the process I’d like to share with you. Working as a therapist for over 25 years, I’ve been privileged to come alongside ordinary people facing their own personal tsunamis. Then, in 2014 my husband went missing from a backpacking trip and suddenly the tables turned, thrusting me into the role of trauma survivor myself.
From this place so far outside of my comfort zone, God has been slowly healing the layers of trauma and grief. It’s been quite a journey. Part of my healing has come in writing about the pain, the beauty, and everything in-between. I also love speaking to groups, sharing what I’ve learned along the way.
